Presentation

The TORSEC group performs research in the fields of computer and network security. It is established within the Dipartimento di Automatica e Informatica of the Politecnico di Torino. The group's activity is mainly concerned with - but not restricted to - the following topics:

News

(2006, Feb 9) New paper published in the Int. Journal of Information Security by our PKI team. It's about PKIs, their history, status and forsen evolution. Look in the publications section.

(2005, Sep 9) New paper presented at the IEEE SecureComm-2005 conference by Diana Berbecaru. It's about experimental performance evaluation of SSL over FirDA channels to secure typical personal area network (PAN) environments, such as a network of PDAs. Look in the publications section.

(2005, Feb 14) Giorgio Calandriello has joined TORSEC as a Ph.D. student; his research work will be concentrated in the area of wireless security, so contributing to the TORSEC excellence in this very important sector. Welcome Giorgio!

(2004, Dec 22) New paper presented at the IEEE ISSPIT-2004 conference by Diana Berbecaru. It's about an improved way to use OCSP, particularly suited to a mobile and/or wireless environment. Look in the publications section.

(2004, Sep 21) due to its increasing involvement in policy-based security, TORSEC has joined DMTF

(2004, Feb 1) Start of the activity of the POSITIF project, funded by the EU under contract. TORSEC is the coordinator of this project that aims to define methodologies and tools for policy-based security in a networked environment. (2004, Jan 1) Massimiliano Pala, the chief architect of OpenCA has joined TORSEC as a Ph.D. student
